12 bar or round bar?
#1
I am trying to set up my bike to slow everything down. For a beginner would you recommend a 12 bar or round bar? I think the round bar can look nicer but I feel that the 12 bar would be better in case I bring the bike up too much. Less chances of it going to the side...

the 12 bar would have to be several feet wider on either side to prevent that from happening lol......niehter will prefvent the subframe from braking if you flip a wheelie......if you dont plan on scraping in the immediate future....i suggest using neither and investing in a good crash cage

My rookie ass prefers a flat 12 bar over a round bar. The round bar will sway left to right on you if you ride on it long enough. Flat bar just goes straight.

This is based on my experience.

Round bar has less chance of smashing your leg or ripping your guts open.

Round for me.

A cage is coming for sure. Was thinking about the SI. They look pretty strong and it seems like it would protect most of the bike... My next investment will be in a crash cage, 12 bar or round bar and a subcage...

That short flat bar looks bad ass tho. How can I get my hands on one of those? Anyone make them?

my whole subframe is custom and the bar is part of the subframe it self but im sure somebody makes something that bolts on to your bike. Here are better pics of mine.

I really like your set up. Looks sick! Thanks for advice... Will look into it more but if I can't get anything like that will prob just go with a good cage and a round bar.
