It can def be done with motor in frame. I used short battery bolts with matching nuts to attach the piece of metal I made to the clutch arm. Don't try to take clutch cover off and weld a piece of metal to the clutch arm either!!! It will not work that way. You won't be able to spin the clutch arm to lock the clutch cover to the motor casing cause the arm will hit the frame. The only way to do it is with the drilling method with the 2 nuts and bolts. It was a little of a pain to have to remove clutch arm mod to get clutch cover off to do my timing advancer mod, but well worth the inconvenience with the super easy clutch pull!!!

for those of you wondering what it looks like when its too long, here it is. of course i didnt read that it would be too long if welding with motor in frame until after i welded it. need to drop the motor now., sigh.

You can't weld it. You gotta go with a nut and bolt setup and put arm mod on after you swing the arm past the frame. I almost did the same thing!

haha ya i figured that out the hard way. i just dont like the idea of bolting it up! stupid thing only needs like 1/4 inch of wiggle room to get it. bah. dropping the motor. hopefully my clutch doesnt go out any time soon.

Fuck that! Cut a piece off the arm so it clears the frame then use 2 nuts and bolts to hold the new piece of metal on. U gonna have to get another piece of metal so u can drill 2 holes in arm and arm mod piece. Just make sure the bolt head isn't too close to the part where cable goes
