05 zx6r exhaust question
#1
I know you all say use the factory exhaust on the bike but I HATE how it sounds! With that said I picked up a yoshi slip on and it' has been shortened some. I was wondering if any of you have tried cutting the servo valve off the factory and putting it on your slip on. Trying keep the low end I hear I'll loose plus keep all my lights off. Any tips etc I was just curious wish I had a spare factory exhaust to try cutting up first but I don't. will it work? Screw it and sell the slip on and deal with my bike sounding like a lil moped or loose a lil low end and have it sound like a bike..... What would you all suggest???

I don't run the servo with the stock exhaust and manage to get by... If you want I'll make you a little circuit you can plug in to replace the servo and keep the lights off. They're like $50 if you buy them online, I'll do $25 shipped.

Thanks man and I'll keep that in mind but have read without it you loose some bottom end? It was just an idea I've been tossing around in my head.

Honestly I'm not really sure... The servo was broken on my bike when I got it so I just pulled it out to save space. I tried messing with the valve by wiring it in various positions to add back pressure, but that just seemed to kill the power so idk. I really want to ditch the super heavy and ugly stocker and fab up a custom exhaust system so I'm not going to sweat messing with it.

Does this offer still stand? I put an 03-04 header on my 05-06 and bike runs like poop now. I thought nothing of it when I was researching if it was doable because nothing was mentioned about the servo..

762SPR will set ya up... Your timing gets turned down 3 degrees when the FI light is on. I'd just buy the mod from him. The servo is more work to rig up than 25 bucks worth of time imo...

Hoping he will! I went to listen to the new sound ad the massive bog before the rev was pretty disappointing!

Yeah, I just need to dig up the parts again. shoot me a PM.

Does it do that with any FI code? or just the exhaust servo error?

No, it's in the undertail exhaust but if you change the headers you can't run the stock exhaust with the servo in it.
