I had an 02 yz250f and it was a pain the ass to start. I think they changed the accelerator pump in 03 or 04 to help. Only input I have on it.

i have an 01/02 yz250f with a 03 cam and its pretty easy to start provided it hasn't been sitting for months. 03+ no longer use the decompression lever thing. Really fun to wheelie on the streets even with knobblies. Would prefer longer gears personally though
