04/09 hybrid build

So my build has finally begun. I decided against the 674cc motor due to it causing possible over heating issues. However I did have the transmission under cut and replace the rings and bearings. Basically I have a fresh motor.
I am putting 09 race fairings on it with an 09 swing arm
Right now I am working on getting the 09 arm to fit. At first I thought it was going to be a real paint in the ass with the steel frame but looks like it will be pretty easy. I put a RC51 swing arm on an f4i so I know I can do this. Once I get it mocked up every thing is going off to powder coat. I figured I would get away from black and green and decided to go with pearl white candy orange and black.

subbed. how do you know if the shock linkage mount point is the same on the 90 frame as the 04 frame, wouldnt it make your ass end sit lower or higher if it wasnt in the exact same spot. why did you decide to go with the 09 swinger, there giant and look kinda shitty compared to the 05/06

shock linkage lines right up.... and you are correct it changes the height of the ass end, but it isnt very hard to make a spacer to counter that loss of tail end height

to each their own, but it looks far from shitty brother

well it looks better on the 03/04 than it does the 09 lol, idk for some reason they just look huge on the 09s, yours looks sweet, maybe its the smaller body and fairings on the 09 that makes it look so much different cuz at first glance i wouldnt tell yours was an 09.

i was askin on the shock thing cuz even if a bike is lowered a half inch in the rear it kills the geometry of the bike to standup easy. i made a custom lowering link for an 03 i had that only dropped it about 1/2" and it was a crazy difference, thing wouldnt wanna rip up on the streets for shit, sure in the lot it wouldnt matter, but rippin up 3rd n 4th on streets was unbeliebable difference.

i added a 1/4" spacer to bring the tail up a bit so the geometry is fine in my opinion.. and i have no problem rocking 3rd and 4th on the streets

it was definitely different when i rode it for the 1st time, but i am beginning to like the geometry a lot more as i ride it more. tank tricks and sitdowns have both been learned with this set up and streets have been riden and not a single complaint

good deal grad ya like it. i rocked mine like it was for over a year it just took a little gettin used to, but ive learned not to lower a bike at all lol. sucks being short at times haha

I wanted somthing different plus I am sick of seeing 05/06 swing arms The linkage bolts right up. The 09 swing arm is only 1/2 longer than stock 03/04 it wont make that much of a difference in bp. also its a simple as making a new set of dog bones to adjust height back to stock
