EBooks are a technology whose time has come. But do not be so quick to give up the printed page.
Art on books
There are images in eBooks, but they are hard to see and certainly would not last if there was no electricity around. The art in books is pretty much remarkable, specifically in children�s books or older books. There are beautiful leather covers and art panels in these books.
Keeping it from being altered
There is a lot of censorship out there that needs to be stopped, and it even takes place in print books that have been released as a later edition. Still, Amazon, Google and some other industries are willing to change passages after an individual has already bought the eBook. Many people want to get what they paid for, which is why it is annoying when companies change it remotely.
�Fahrenheit 451� showed us what it would be like if books were burned. In the United States, that is less likely to occur on that scale. However, in instances of natural disaster that knocks out the supply of electrical power, what occurs to eBooks? Once battery power is gone, there are no eBooks. If the Internet were to fade away or fall under overt governmental or corporate dictatorship, eBooks would be severely restricted - and likely censored.
Purposes of sharing reason
Whenever you get an eBook, it is really hard to share those books with the people around you. You have to give the whole machine to your friend rather than just one the one book. With a hardback book, you can actually give the book to anybody you need for reading.
