It's the two connectors under your upper, probably corrosion or a loose connection. One is black and one is clear. The connect your speedo and tach.
Edit: to be honest I would check all your connectors up front there are 5 that connect lights/gauges/controls together. Take your upper off and it will expose all of them, clean and reattach before you mount your upper again test everything. Hope it helps.

Good luck homie, there are two longer skinny gray ones, one hooks to your switch, the other to your headlight harness. There is a wiring diagram somewhere in this site for the whole bike so if you find that it should help too! Dope ass diagram too. Ill look for it

You'll have less problems running aftermarket upper stay. Especially running a stock headlight, keeps everything up there solid.

greedy start of the thread, holy shit.
but what Bro said ... also, if your wire harness is all jacked up different ways check the wires where they go into the plug assembly itself, mine got kinked and worn so I had 1 copper cable out of the 7 or 9 or whatever in the line actually making contact. bumps on the street would make my light go on or off. at one point I also put my head lights on a toggle switch so I could run at night, ftp :lol
