f4i overheating ???

my f4i temp keeps climbing when im riding till it starts overheating and i have to switch it off to cool down. i have flushed the system and replaced the coolant. basically even in cold weather without doing any drifts/burnouts etc the temp still creeps up and into the red.. im running the standard 1 fan but i do have it wired to a switch, even when its left always on the bike still overheats..

fan is defo working and running the right direction, coolant level etc all ok,
any ideas, faulty thermostat maybe ? can i just remove it or should i replace it ?

yea, well when i put my hand down the left side of the bike i can feel the hot air being pushed out, as far as i remember most bikes felt the same

I would not call that a good test.. Pt a piece of paper or a dollar bill to it and see if she sucks or blows

I was having the same issue earlier this year, swapped out the radiator, cap, coolant??? So for the hell of it I pulled the cover off the water pump and could spin the propeller by hand. Ended up snapping off the water pump drive shaft. And there is no gasket, just a rubber O-ring behind the cover so u can reuse it. Just an idea on something else you could check!

I think and my experience is saying that you are right but don't remove it . You can replace . Otherwise it can cause another problem again . I think the problem will be solved this way and you will not face any problem next time related to coolant .

be sure you have no air in the system. a good size air pocket can vapor lock the system
well not vapor lock. that wasn't the correct terminology, more like air lock

proper bleeding:

with the cap off blip the throttle. keep blipping it everytime you blip it you'll see some air rise. keep doing it till the bike heats up, coolant starts to overflow and you see no more air bubbles rising out the system, then put the cap on.

thanks guys, i did try bleeding it but il try again just incase, i ordered a new thermostat being that the bike has high-ish mileage and there not too expensive, il swap it and check the pump/propellers etc while im at it..
