What to look for?

Hey I got a set up quad I am getting ready to possibly trade a kid for an 05 zx6r. The bike only has like 5000 miles and appears to be mint. I haven't seen it yet though in person. What should I look for as far as things that go wrong with them. I'm going to start setting it up for stunt and get to learning slow stuff. Also is this a good year to get?

If I understand correctly they are popular for having the top valve gasket leak? I know one of mine does. its no biggie, but it could be a good way to try and lower the price.

Other then that, just take it on a test ride, make sure gears change smoothly, no engine knocking. If cam chain tensioner is loose (which it shouldn't be with 5k on bike, but if it is, its easy fix but you can also use it to negotiate price.)

I don't know what the price of it is or what you want to offer. But I got an 06 636 for $1,500 not to long ago just by mentioning little problems.

Also if aftermarket exhaust and FI light on, easy fix and won't affect you, but you can throw that in there as your scared to buy, save a few more dollars.

Cool man appreciate it I highly doubt anything is wrong with it but I just wanted to know what to pay attention to. Is this a good year of the zx6r someone said the newer ones have motor problems but I really aint seen much on it

I have a couple 05/06's and love them. Had an 07/08 and the low end power is garbage so I got rid of it.
Cant personally say anything about 09 and up.
03/04 is just most comfortable for me, even though I like the power/feel/smoothness of the 05/06 more.

Nah. I have a sick bar but you dont want it. You want to go with A town bar/subframe brace. All others are shit.
