With stock gearing, first is basically useless. Even at a crawl that little motor is spinning it's heart out. I was almost always doing circles in second and straight wheelies in second or mostly third. I threw on the 34 tooth from ESD ans WOW it made a huge difference! I didn't really notice much loss in torque in any gear, but first is great for circles now. More power than the old second, but it's not screaming.

The suspension kit is also amazing! It takes all of the slop of the stock suspension out, and I don't know if it's just because it's stiffer or because it's a little higher but I can now do sitdowns all day long without even trying! Pop it into second or third, get about mid RPM, a little tug and goose the throttle while sitting on the back of the seat. Comes right up, I think it may even be easier with lass teeth in the back.

I'd say at a minimum I would probably get the 88 kit, big bars, and the suspension (and street tires if you don't have them). Rear pegs and hand brake make it more fun, and the gearing makes it more ride able. If you can handle a welder, doing the undertail exhaust mod is really nice, too. Helped my circles a lot!

ok sweet i got my 88 kit, big bars, hand brake and pegs so far with my first order, but i forgot to order the clutch tool so i can just do it all at once so ill be buying that from zeus tonight. so i think i'll get the suspension and some street tires but for now i'm rocking the dirt tires and it works for me because i've been running it up and down canal roads and railroad tracks lol. but after that gearing is what i'll get and thanks for the info. i do know how to run a welder i just don't know how to do the mod, how does a guy do that?. Dude your 06 636 project build is fckin sweet man.

I made my own clutch tool. Old socket about the size of the nut + old carbide endmill and some time = clutch tool! If you don't run a mill, then you can get by with a grinder and a little more time.

For the undertail, it's your lucky day! I did a write up on mine! http://stuntride.com/vbstunt/showthread.php?t=42758

Thanks! I really want to make some wheelies on the 636, but I took it out the other day on the interstate at night and somehow managed to loose both of my cage sliders Looks like more work before practice, but it won't take long. I just haven't had the time yet...

762SPR I love the undertail write up. I was just telling my buddy the other day that I need to get that shit done. It's annoying having it pressed up on the side of my calf all the time.

Looks like you are going in the right direction Cheddar. I think at minimum big bars, pegs, and HB is what you need. I'm still on stock 50 cc's and have a lot of fun with that setup. I think my next big purchase is a new front suspension or rear disc's, who knows.
