Total loss claim bike, how to make legal?

The wording is a little ambiguous. When they say apply for a new certificate of title, I don't know if they're saying with the same VIN or not. I know if Maine it will not be a clean title, it will say repaired.

i don't think it's worth it at that price. if you can get it for super cheap, maybe. but people don't like paying much for repaired or salvage title, which drops your sale price after you've repaired it.

tanks and frames... two quickest ways to total out a bike. even a barely visible dent or dimple in a tank or frame will have insurance adjustors claiming it as a total loss.

im not payin anything for this bike. i bought my honda for 1200 and this guy wants to trade str8 up. the frame is untouched by what he says and its just the fairing and tank i would have to fix. what you guys thinkin???

depends on how the state re-issues the title. I know here in Kansas, salvage titled vehicles sell for a lot less than an identical vehicle with clean normal title.

oh, for 1200, yeah sounds like a decent amount, considering. it would all depend on your state's laws though. you got to go to the dmv and ask them.

if you wanted its VIN to run completely clean wouldnt you need to swap a frame onto it that is completely clean?
