I'm a Honda guy
The mileage is good
As long as you change the oil and do regular maintenance that car can last a long time
I'd ask what's up with the back there , like why it's smashed
It can b fixed but may need something pulled idk it's hard to tell from pics
And there's a little rust there which in sure you saw
Idk how firm he is and if you don't mind that cosmetic stuff it's not a bad deal
Looks to be a ls model which isn't the better model
And it all depends on your intentions
I'd try and get it for closer to 1,000 personally but 1500 wouldn't be bad
Who cares what he spent on it that has nothing to do with how the car sits now
But the mileage is still low enough that gives the car some value and new tires and some of that other stuff
Go with 1500 cash and keep bringing up the damage and rust and that it's automatic ( even though automatics sell for more )
And 01 is the last year they made them so it has some value I'd you fix that damage and rust you could sell it for around 3,500 probably

Id say its a good deal. So long as there in no underlying issues.
