r6 fuel pump won't prime

First night out I did some idle staggered wheelies for a few minutes. Finally I came down to turn around and my bike shut off.

From then, my fuel pump wouldn't prime.

I opened everything up, checked all my fuses, looked at the fuel pump connectors, pulled the fuel pump half out (it was hung on that nipple but it seemed to be in one piece).

The only thing I noticed was that my active battery connector had been a little loose. I pulled codes in diagnostic mode, but those didn't help me much (I also read that they can be wrong if you have a loose terminal), but the codes were: d61:14 and d62:4.

What the hell did I do?

My 05 R6 is notorious for this and it has always been the fuel pump. Coming down hard off a wheelie or laying it down hard enough and it would come apart. Sometimes it would totally come apart and sometimes just enough not to work. I know you said you pulled it halfway out, but I would pull it all the way just to see. If it is in one piece, just press it together tight. Might just be a little loose.

I'll try to pull it out all the way this morning, but I definitely wasn't coming down hard at all.

Haha, it ended up being my radiator fan taking out my fuse box wiring harness! Little assassin fan I tell you.

Rivet the two halves of the fuel pump together...R6 pumps like to fall apart

i know nothing of r6 fuel pumps, but something i do is use a "T" splicer and a terminal connector to the battery and 12v wire to the fuel pump. i just did a little something to better explain. you may need to put power to both + wires of fuel pump @ the same time, if u got nuthin then the pumps bad.\\\if the pump primes then u have a bad switch or electrical connection, blown fuse, etc...

Fyi on r6 fuel pumps, if you ever need one and find a deal on an 06+ r6r it will work, just switch the bottoms and you are good to go!
