Shift forks will have minor wear marks just from us actual gears will slip on the inner parts of the conjoining gear if these show scratch marks on both sides needs changing , shift dog on the other hand no wear is really acceptable

More importantly how do ur gears look cause if u have marks on ur shift forks u prolly have some gears going bad as well.......I thought that if I changed my shift forks that it would buy me time and not have to change my gears......WRONG in 15 minutes with my new shift forks and old gears I already ha gauges in my shift forks

It's not necessarily nicks on ur gears that will tell u if they are bad....the teeth will be rounded....it is hard to see this if the hear are still on the shaft so next question are they still on the shaft? And if u are already inside the motor and the cases are split u might as well put a couple new gears in there I can't remember for sure but I think 1st and 5th mate and 2nd and 6th mate so just replace those 4 an u will be solid

It's a pretty easy job I've done it start to finish pulling the motor and putting it back in over a weekday night had about 7 hours in it.. now I'm not sayin people can do this in a single night with no experience but if u got a Manuel and some York wrenchs u can figure it out
