CBR 954 Beginner Stunt Gearing setup
#1
I just purchased a 954 and want to set it up for stunt. Already have a cage and 12 bar but what i cant decide is on the gearing.

Well i know your going to ask what i want to do with the bike. Just slow wheelies and nothing else, no circles no acrobats or anything of that sort. I will not be riding this bike on the street.

So what is a good gearing setup for a 954? Ive heard different answers all the way from like -1 +30

please.. please gear it mildly!! the 954 is a whiskey throttle machine, if you know what i mean! it is not an "easy" bike to learn idle on!!
if you get a -1 front and a +2 or 3 rear that will fit in your chain and will be MORE then enough since you dont want to do circles.. this is me on my stock geared 954 so i know what i'm talking about:

My 954 I'm +7... Buttt just recently lost 2nd gear( shift forks, whatever else) it mainly sees street wheelies using 2nd gear.. sooo lately I been using first but sooo touchy. Soo until I replace motor, I could get away using a bigger sprocket and using 3rd gear. Ya??

So i guess on the stock chain you can go -1 and about +3 so thats about +6 up from stock.

I didnt really pay attnetion to gearing on 954, so i thoguht i would ask from people who actually stunt this bike.

So coming back to the question should i gear the 954 or keep it stock. I just want a setup that is easy for beginner SLOW wheelies... If stock will make it easy then i will leave it, but if i have to gear it then i will

3RD should be no problem the way it's geared now. ( i can lift my f4i in third with just -1 +2)

I had +7 on the 954 and it was good for slow wheelies. Pulled very hard. I would go no higher than that.
