\r\n \r\n its a mono amp hence the resistance load will not be doubled by "bridging". according to the specs that amp makes 250 watts. like mike said just turn the gain(s) all the way down and adjust as needed. should be good for not running too hot and not overpowering the speakers \r\n

You should check the specs and wiring on the subs. You can\'t just test the resistance across the terminals. Impedance is not the same as resistance. You need to know the impedance to make sure you have the right setup.\r\n

\r\n \r\n Got it figured out. Wired the subs @ 2 ohms. There was a shorted out wire that probably fried my other amp.\r\n

\r\n \r\n one thing to make sure of is if the RMS per channel on ur amp is putting out more power than the RMS of each sub on the channel it will eventually fuck up the sub. max wattage on a sub isn\'t the important number, its the RMS. ive seen 2,000 watt subs with only a 300-500 watt RMS, which is junk IMO\r\n

\r\n \r\n might want to double check your wiring, cause with 2- dual 4 ohm speakers you can only get a 1 ohm or a 4 ohm load. if they sound weaker than before your at 4, hitting harder than before your at 1. 1 ohm is dangerous for those cvrs\r\n

So I have 2 12" kicker cvr subs in the boat and they were wired to a JL 500/1 amp. My amp fried and I now have a lightning audio strike s4.1000.1d amp. Will this amp fry my subs? The specs on the amp say:

250 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms
500 watts x 1 @ 2 ohms
1000 watts x 1 @ 1 ohm

I'm not entirely sure how the subs are wired together but I took an ohms reading at the 2 wires that go to the amp and got just a little under 4 ohms.
