I have been feeling this kinda loose feeling from the back when I get on the throttle. So I leaned the bike over on the kickstand and tried pulling my swing arm up and down and left and right and there is about a 1/4 in of play up and down. Now I dont know if this has always been this way or just noticing the play. What could it be? I dont have any grinding sound like a wore out bearing and it has no slack from left to right. Any sugguestions? Maybe just tighten it up?
Thanks sheeple

Bearings inside the swingarm may be bad. I had this same problem and just fixed it today. I had some real akward grind/squeak revolutionary type noise in the rear end and also had that 1/4" play. I was suggested Swingarm bearings.. Got the bike apart and tried tightening the pivot bolt to make sure it wasn't loose and it still had play... So I took the spare Swingarm I had and put it on, no play. No play whatsoever now. Hope it fixes the multiple issues it was causing.
Hope this helps. I have an 03/04 636
