F4i ignition toggle switch HOW TO

Great! Not a difficult mod, I was surprised how easy and effectively it works. Was skeptical, but no issues at all

I had to use a 20 amp 2 prong switch all the 30 amps had 3 prongs and it wouldnt work right but its all good now. Congo you know thomas right? I got his old f4i. Shes all torn apart for rebuild lol...

Yeah, I know him. Thats awesome that the bike went to someone that is into stunting! I tried to walk him through this mod. Im not sure why its not working for you, I got the 30amp 2 prong switch and it worked great first time. Others on here have gotten it to work. Maybe try again and use the spare resister and diode that came in the packages, resolder carefully, and use quick disconnect electrical connectors to attach it to a 2 prong 30 amp switch. You definitely got the right diodes and resistors right?

oh, didnt read your post right,. So you got it to work then, thats great! what all are you planning to do to the bike during your rebuild? Try to fix that fuel pump priming issue, lol.

Hmm, not sure about that. Im sure it could be done, but why would you want a switch and a key? Would the switch over-ride the key if you didnt have the key? Why would you want a key ignition too if you didnt need the key and just flip the switch?

You could put a switch on any of the wires in between the plug and the keyed ignition to make it so the key wouldnt work without the switch being flipped to on position....

Dont really know why you would want both, but I believe that this would work for you to be able to use either the key or the switch... depending on which your heart desired at the time . Seems like a pain just for the option of either. I dont really like adding splices where I dont have to if I can help it.

i want to be able to still lock my ignition and ride on the street with my key and not be able to kick my key off and be able to ride with out it for the lot
