Private gun sales/gifting??
#1
I've been trying to look it up, but all these laws seem so confusing. Does any one know what the law is behind buying a gun from a private seller or getting it as a gift? I am currently an Illinois resident and I have my FOID card, but I am living in Arizona at the moment. Does any one know if I am legally allowed to buy a handgun from a private seller or receive it as a gift while I am in AZ? Or do I have to go through an FFL in my home state?

You are good in AZ as long as you are a legal citizen (rare in AZ). You dont need a bill of sale or anything. Give dude your cash and he gives you the gun. You just cant have felonies.

You Cannot legally purchase a handgun out of state if you are not a resident. If its a private seller he might but id doubt it unless he doesn't care

It'd technically have to go through a ffl dealer in your home state..

Says you just have to be a resident of the state of AZ to buy a firearm, which is defined here:

As long as you A) have a job or B) have lived here for 7 months your considered a resident. Heres where it says about buying:

Personally I wouldn't care if it's a cash sale and he doesn't ask for any paperwork......like you give him cash and he gives you the gun.......fuck it......that shit no longer exists......it's good to have a few throw aways in your collection.....
