I just bought a 1999 oldmobile alero and got a few minor issues. So far 2day when i went to turn her on she starts no problem, then within 10secs..she shuts off. Then again she did the same thing when i went to put her into drive

Now the check engine light is on and i went to Autozone to do the computer checkto get the code for why the light is on and its a bad cat. converter. Would that make the car shut off?

also, when going about 60+ she shakes a little bt and b4 i bought her i was told she needs an alignment, would that cause her to shake

thanks for any input. Im car friendly anything 90 and older, these newish cars puzzle me

uh shaking could be
wheel bearing, tires, ball joints, tie rods pretty much anything suspension

cant really tell you without seeing or hearing

i dont think so. its only got 90k miles and the in and out is mint. found out i needed 2 new tires due to dry rot, ignition switch and a alignment. she runs perfect now.

If your cats bad it could plug up and cause no power... Better save up for one of those cause they ain't very cheap...

I feel ya man......but a friend of mine had one of these and it was an awful car......if you're gonna buy older and high mileage stick to honda/toyota....

my buddy bought a 1990 Honda Accord for $500 with 275K+ miles on it......he drove it like he stole it for about 3 years........made a couple repairs all for less than $50.......and sold it for the same $500 with 335K miles on it.......
