Your commander can make any rules they want. If they say you can't wear t shirts on weekends then you can't.
I do think it's BS that riding dirt bikes is ok though and this isn't.

U are wrong there is a bug mis conception with the fact that people think they can make up whatever rules they want it has to be a lawful order....if my CO would've said that I couldn't stunt I would request mast and if i got the same answer over and over I would put together a very good case and take it to court marshal

Well I'm not going to say much about this but the guy is just joining the military and his recruiter blew some smoke up his ass to persuade him to join. You can make a argument and fight with your chain of command over it but at the end of the day you are government property. Unless he wants to commit career suicide i would say just keep your nose clean until he has a clear yes or no. It's not really worth his military career. Then again i like my job, my benefits and everything the military has to offer me.

Wether u are government property or not u are still a person with rights...if someone in Ur chain of command tells u that u can't do something all u have to do is request mast or right a letter to Ur congressmen.....don't be the normal military robot that believes everything their chain of command tells them try thinking outside the box for once

join for 4... feel it out and see what you think...
PS. Air Force is shutting down and transferring a most of their operations to the NAVY, so unless you want to join the NAVY id consider another service.
