My gf picked me up a sigma 17-70 last year for Xmas used and I love it. An get so close for macro shots and is a good all around lens

What is the big thing about prime lenses that make you wan to use them over other lenses?

My Favourite at the moment is my Zeiss 16-80. definitely goes wide enough for some interesting shots and in bright conditions the colours can be amazing (imo)

Primes are faster lenses.

For pictures I love my canon 2.8 70-200 is2. For video I use my 50mm prime atm but I hope to upgrade that in the next month or so to a 2.8 24-70.
