I've been following it. Some scary shit. Funny this isn't plastered all over the MSM. I've got so many feelings about it, but I'm literally at a loss for words. I can't believe this is happening in the USA.

My thoughts are that this dangerously bypasses the judicial branch and gives the military (read: federal government) unprecedented power. The US is now, officially, a war zone. Occupiers: if you're deemed a threat, be prepared to have NO rights. This means, NO LAWYER, no right to a trial, no charge necessary to hold you, INDEFINITELY. This really is the scariest thing I've seen Congress pass, so easily. Obama has threatened to veto, but he won't......as it would mean political suicide for his 2012 race. Wake up, America.....we are no longer free.

Section 31 of bill S1867 allows the US military to detain US citizens indefinitely, without rights, if suspected of association with/terrorism. A summary would be, the US is now an open police state. Ironic, isn’t it, that “the war on terror” to make us safe ends in a police state with the government declaring the right to detain and even murder American citizens who it regards as a threat, therefore taking away our liberties. I hope the military revolts if it is ever expected to carry out this atrocity against it's countries citizens.
