i made a 12 bar for mine.. i cut the last 6 inchs off the subframe and put 1/2 inch steel rod all the way down the subframe tubes and then welded another piece of 1/2 inch steel rod on top of it. worked really good. before that i had one cable clamped onto the subframe it was alright to put ur foot in but scraping it was bad new!! it bent and finally broke the last 6 inchs of the subby off.

Just make it so it follows the subframe up, preferably WAY up the subframe to the main frame.
I'd follow both lines of the subframe personally if you want it to hold up. Maybe go down the top part of the subframe, yet also have a bar that goes down the lower part of the subframe, for more support. If you don't want to weld it to the actual frame, you can use "U bolts" to secure it. Just like people do on crf50's. something ilke this picture, you can purchase them at westlake/homedepot http://www.google.com/imgres?q=u+bol...t:429,r:21,s:0

I was just thinking at work about picking one up after a customer brought one in. I would change the front wheel to a 16" and run the pirelli diablo scooter tires on it. Figured you could have a sorta super motard for like 600 bucks when all was said and done. Wouldn't be a bad bike to bring to the lot to mess around on or for whoevers bike was down.
