diff between xr 50 and crf50?? looking to buy

Plastics is it. Think the crf started in 04?? xr from 00-03. z50 from 79-99 or something like that

also just FYI, when buying a 50, there are a few things to look out for.

Make sure the swingarm has no play, and that the swingarm pivot bolt area looks fine and isn't destroyed. Sometimes it can get so bad it destroys the main frame.
Make sure none of the motor mounts are lose, or busted, they snap really easy.
Make sure the frame isn't choppered out at all.. Compare to pics of bikes in perfect condition. Look around the neck of the frame to make sure it isn't cracked or anything.
check the bolts that mount the peg bracket to the bottom of the motor, people often lose 1-2-3 bolts, and then hit a jump and rip the other bolts out...

Anything motor related is fairly cheap, I wouldn't say steer clear of a 10 year old 50 based off it say burning oil, or being down on compression. I'd make sure stuff like the bearings/wheels/frame and everything are good though. The motor is expected to be worn out after years of use, and for as little as $99 you can get a bolt on 88cc kit and not worry about it, plus gain shitloads of power

for sure, take notes. this is the answer. i got a 05 crf but my buds got a 00 xr and it is faster, cleaner, and runs better. not sure why but could care less. rock that shit bro

Almost make you wanna buy an xr instead of a crf. That way you can BS the seller about it being older and maybe talk them down on price lol
