they already have a test for that, I have a friend who was 100% happy she was pregnant (she was trying), married, etc etc.
she took the test for downs and it was positive and her and her husband made the choice to have an abortion. I think thats a responsible decision made by an adult. if she knew she wasnt able to or willing to live a life dedicated to that child, she made the right choice. I mean you could call it sad or selfish all day long, but if she KNEW she was not prepared or able to do it, then it wasnt selfish at all |
agreed thomas... and definitely a tough subject
i have a friend that has Huntingtons disease. she lost her father and has already seen her 23 year old sister into a nursing home. my friend is almost 30 and has yet to get symptoms, but it is only a matter of time before it takes over... she and her husband decided to get pregnant and tested the unborn child for Huntington's. if the baby (she) did have it they were going to consider, and if it did not (which it did not have the gene) they would go foward
their daughter is healthy, living without the gene and is 2 years old now. i know that my friends would NOT have been able to live with themselves knowing they gave birth to a child that would not be given a fair chance at a healthy life

.... business opportunity for ya thomas haha
