I think thats a responsible decision made by an adult. if she knew she wasnt able to or willing to live a life dedicated to that child, she made the right choice.

I mean you could call it sad or selfish all day long, but if she KNEW she was not prepared or able to do it, then it wasnt selfish at all

agreed thomas... and definitely a tough subject

i have a friend that has Huntingtons disease. she lost her father and has already seen her 23 year old sister into a nursing home. my friend is almost 30 and has yet to get symptoms, but it is only a matter of time before it takes over... she and her husband decided to get pregnant and tested the unborn child for Huntington's. if the baby (she) did have it they were going to consider, and if it did not (which it did not have the gene) they would go foward

their daughter is healthy, living without the gene and is 2 years old now. i know that my friends would NOT have been able to live with themselves knowing they gave birth to a child that would not be given a fair chance at a healthy life

a-fucking-men brother!

I dont believe abortion should be a form of birthcontrol. If you going to do the deed then wrap that rascal and expect to face the results.

I do think it is a persons choice and only they can do as they wish to there bodies I.E rape or anything that nature.

Oooh, I love this topic. I once witnessed an 11 year old girl brought in to the hospital by her mother, to abort her fathers child. Silly girl, couldn't handle the responsibility.

Ill let the conversation get a little more in depth before I go too much further, but here's my take: IMO, abortion should be a legal MEDICAL option for any woman looking to terminate a pregnancy within the 1st trimester for any reason whatsoever, without being harassed, "counseled", and made to wait a certain period after "counseling".

Late term abortions should be (medically) reserved for abortions to save the mothers life, victims of rape and/or incest, or still birth babies in which the mother does not wish to continue the pregnancy.

Next time your judgement guides you to say "there's no reason to kill a baby" try to think about all the children born today, that are neglected, starved, abused and even killed because the parent is not capable of caring for them, or does not want them. Think of the physical, emotional, and mental pain they will endure. Now ask yourself at what age your very first memory was formed, and if it wasn't in the womb....well, I think you can figure the rest out.

I'm sure everyone knows at least one person that would make a strong arguement for post-natal abortions... er, I guess thats just homocide.
