Abortion?
#1
I think that no matter what you believe, noone has the right to tell a woman to have one, or not have one.

the problem with conservatives who are pro life are often anti sex ed, condoms etc. what they dont understand is that "abstinence" will never happen for a large portion of people.

so if abortion was illegal, then there would be illegal, unsafe abortions

and

there would be a lot more unwanted babies, foster kids etc. which would further burden the system

Thoughts??

Im not against it personally, i feel like its the womens choice . if she doesnt want to go through with a pregnancy thats up to her

If your not ready for a child then you should be protecting yourself from having one any way possible. If not face the consequences. No reason to kill an innocent child for your own mistake.

pro life individuals seem to forget all of the raped women/children that would not have been/be pregnant if not forced into unwanted sex

u said it thomas. if abortion were illegal, we would have a black market for it and the practices would be AWFUL. i remember hearing of the coat hanger method being used in other countries

now, after a certain period of time it is frowned upon and illegal to abort the unborn child. what scares me is the other side of the coin....... one day people will be able to and already may have access to health or disease info that the baby may carry before ever being born. imagine a family testing the unborn baby only to find out that it carrys a downsyndrom gene, and they then decide to have an abortion. what are the thoughs if any on that??

I work with down syndrome individuals and people with special needs all day long at work. They are no different than anyone else and live happy lives.

I also know alot of families who adopt children with special needs. No reason to kill an innocent child.

see thats your belief and I respect that.

but..

Not everyone is as responsible as you, they never will be, accept that
condoms break
women get raped
birth control isnt always 100%

now theres 3 options:

1- Full term and keep the baby, but keep in mind, this woman is most likely poor, maybe a student, no health insurance, which will cost the govt/taxpayers money, will need government aid/welfare for a while (maybe life), once again costing the govt/taxpayers money. oh and welfare babies end up growing up and having more welfare babies, which costs the govt/taxpayers $$$

2 - full term and possibly adopt, most likely foster forever, keep in mind, that there isnt enough adoptive parents for the kids that are given up now, much less if we added another 20-40%. This means theres more foster kids, which costs govt/taxpayers money and typically foster children do not turn out very good and can often cost the govt/taxpayers money the rest of their lives via welfare or jail

3 - abort, there is a federal law that the govt/taxpayers will NEVER fund an abortion, im sure at least 6 times outta 10 they guy will pay anyways.

they already have a test for that, I have a friend who was 100% happy she was pregnant (she was trying), married, etc etc.

she took the test for downs and it was positive and her and her husband made the choice to have an abortion.

I think thats a responsible decision made by an adult. if she knew she wasnt able to or willing to live a life dedicated to that child, she made the right choice.

I mean you could call it sad or selfish all day long, but if she KNEW she was not prepared or able to do it, then it wasnt selfish at all

i agree 100%... the child is innocent, but the real issue here is the individual that makes the decision on whether to keep or not to keep the child.

i guess it comes down to why and the motivation. i will always be pro life, but i couldnt imagine being a young teen, finding out you are pregnant with someones child (that wants nothing to do with you) and having to live with it. there are circumstances in my opinion that justify abortion

now, just having an abortion bc u fucked up and werent protecting yourself... shame on you

Thats the reason for most of it. People are stupid

I say put some kind of birth control in women that works 100 percent and when they are ready for a child they can take it out. problem solved
