636 bog when hot
#1
ok so my 04 636 is starting to bog WHEN THE BIKE GETS HOT, like when you blip the throttle in the lower rpm's it hesitates, higher rpms is fine... i have no tacho on it so cant read how hot it gets but the fan is constantly on and the bike is not squirting coolant.. so its not retarded hot i think, lol

during the first 3-5 min it runs awesome or when i let it cool down for a couple minutes..

anyone had this happen and knows whats wrong??

thanks!

your bike could be 250 degrees and might not shoot out coolant , put a set of gauges on it

Sync your throttle boddies! Service manual is your friend!

Since it appears to be heat related, I'd be thinking electrical. Coil packs would probably be the first place I looked.

I agree with OMR in that he needs to know the temperature point where the bike starts acting up.
After 3-5 minutes, the ECU is going from open to closed loop on reading the FI sensors. If the bike start bogging immediately after entering closed loop, I'd be checking codes (gauges again) and testing sensors.

ok, i hooked up gauges and the bike doesnt overheat and shows no Fi codes.. throttle bodies were synced like 2 weeks ago also..

i took it for a little ride and now she was good for 10 min so i think its more like a random problem and maybe not really heat related, i checked ofr loose throttle bodies and vacuum hoses so maybe i should go the electrical route now?

coil packs like Tokwik says? any easy way to check those out or should i look in the manual? any other electrical stuff that could be randomly failing?

thanks guys!

could it be water in your gas ? do you leave the bike out side in the rain ?

worst case scenario is you gotta bad head, this happened to me. it would start and run fine then in low rpm it would stutter and act up high rpm was fine. after a couple weeks it was all done, wouldn't start water and oil all mixed. hope its not the head bro.

Exacty the same problem I'm having! I just posted a thread about it too before I read this one. My bike runs mint the first few minutes or if I let it sit for a few minutes. but when I slam the throttle it sounds like it's drowning in air and then it kicks in. Also seams to have low idle power. I put lucas fuel injector cleaner and it ran good for that tank but now it's back to the same damn thing. I'm gonna try the injector cleaner again and see what it does.. let me know what you find I'm working on it as well.
