2004 636 wont rev past 12000 rpm's

OK I ripped into the bike and I think I may have found the problem... Under the airbox I found 2 hoses disconnected where the "T" goes into the top of the engine for the clean air mod...

i havent changed the plugs yet because they still havent came in... i have the coils, the air filter, and a fuel pump if need be... I am going to go ahead and change the plugs before I try to see if it worked, but i am pretty sure that the vaccum lines in the below pics are the cause of my issues....

1st pic is the hose disconnected ... like I found it
2nd pic is it hooked back up properly

The other 2 pics are of my bike while ghoing through its quarterly maintenance.. painting a few parts... powder coating rims... 12 bar...

Got a pretty big show this weekend, so she needs to look her best!

Thanks for your help guys! I will let you know how she is running shortly!

Check what you need to check but I know Scott Fury was having the same issue last year, unsure if that was the exact RPM level, but he replaced his fuel pump and that solved the problem. Might save you some time on messing with the harness if you don't have one already. Hopefully what you stated above is your problem though.

i actually dont think having those two hoses off would cause the problem , it's just a crank case vent ..

i could be wrong though

I'm still going with my initial diagnosis, fuel delivery...

So it was the fuel pump? or did you have water in the other gas tank. I pumped water into my tank one time right out of the gas pump. Then went to do a show(where Tommy lee from Motley Crew showed up to watch) and my bike would barely run, its sucked so bad.

Yeah it was the pump... i could tell right away when i started pumping the gas out of the tank into a gas can that the fuel pump had about 1/10th of the pressure of the new pump... The bike immediatelly sounded better, and the idle shot way up.. I had it set to 3k with the old tank, and it went up to 4k immediately
