sounds like your correct there. there should be a compression on bottom and rebound on top and spring can be adjusted also, theres a min and max the length of that spring should be set to.

Yessir, need different springs if you max it out either way trying to achieve the correct sag as far as I know

never bothered with sag on any bike ive had. i just play with settings till i find the area i want my bike to be at and run it.
