636 tranny ??

FUN FACT: This bad tranny is in the motor i just bought from curtis in KC who promised it to austin but then sold it to me... looks like he dodged a bullet and i caught it lol

Its my fault though, it was from an insurance auction so i took the risk

Ok so im halfway through this process and about to split the cases... what is the primary reason for having 1st gear go out because i never want to do this again.

I plan on never EVER kicking into 1st while my idle is high but is there anything i can do?

Ok so after splitting the cases i have no idea why the transmission is slipping as bad as it is... i can't even clutch it up once without it slipping into neutral at this point.
