\r\n \r\n My stepdad gave a homeless guy $10 and 3 beer. My mom was like, "Why\'d you give him those!" and he said that at least that way he might spend the money on food and not beer. Probably just bought MORE beer, but it was a good idea.\r\n

neil im not sayin all of them, but tru tv or something did do some hidden camera shit and found alot of the homeless guys makin good money! but i do feel bad for them im not saying that.

+1 everyone out there has a storie of why they are there... its just stupid to put everyone in the same catagory and say its thiere own fault.... i was homeless for a year in my life and believe me it was not by my choice, ill tell you some thing els....its extremely dificult to get a job and back on your feet from that position, not imposible, but very hard.... i think supporting the local rescue mission is a good place to start, although im sure there is some corruption somewhere in there..... anytime you have a given place of power or authority you will have corruption\r\n

\nI agree with alot of you.. Homeless people have a choice to be homeless or try to make something of themselves.. I\'ve seen alot of news articles and reports showing how much an average homeless makes 20-30k a yr in just pocket change.. some are legit.. down on their luck and need a little help but if they have the will power they can make it happen. I typically don\'t give money to homeless people.. its extremely rare.. but i did recently see a homeless chic! i was like oh shit.. I definitely gotta give her money.. gave her $5 ...
