@SickIan , My cage doesn't quite fit into the large frame holes of the motor mounts and leaves a gap between frame and cage, I assumed that's what the spacers were for when I first put it on. Just wanted to double check and see if that's normal or if I need to make it fit snugger before slamming it around? Thanks man!

What model bike? Your cage must be snug instead the frame. If its an F4I, there are 4 spacers. Check the install paper and make sure they are in the correct location. Call the shop if you have anymore questions. We want to make sure its on there correctly. 812 303 0711

That's what I was thinking, but the problem is that the cage mounting points are slightly too narrow to slide into the motor mount holes in the frame. I thought about trying to stretch the cage (if I could find anything to strong enough to do it) so that the mount points would sink into the motor mount holes in the frame instead of resting on the edge of the motor mount holes and hoping that the spacers fill the gap properly. I'll try and take a picture of it when I get home.

It is an F4i, but I only got 3 spacer with it, I was missing one of the 3/4" ones. I wasn't too worried about the missing spacer because it felt real sturdy without it. I'll see what I can do about spreading the cage to fit into the motor mounts. Could I get you guys to send me out another spacer? What hours is the shop open? And thanks for the quick reply!

Was the bag busted open? Shouldn't have been missing a spacer. Don't run it without all of the spacers in place. Yes we will send you another spacer. I wouldn't recommend trying to spread the cage. Sometimes they get a little bit of spring in from welding the gussets, but we have never had one that wouldn't go on. Email me at sickinnovations@insightbb.com. I have some install pictures that should make it alot easier.

The bag wasn't ripped open, but it had one engine mount bolt with 2 spacers on it and the second engine mount bolt only had 1 spacer on it in the bag.
And yeah, that's my bike with the cage on it. I got it on and tightened down, that's why I didn't worry about it at the time, but after thinking about it it's a little unnerving that the cage didn't sit flush with the frame, so I figured I'd ask before I thrash it while it's installed incorrectly. Imma shoot you an email in a bit. |
