\r\n \n$130 for a caliper is a bit high however if you have ever powder coated a brake caliper you would understand what a whore nightmare it is to properly prep and mask, but $300 is a fair price for a frame done right. What you dont know is that there is a right and wrong way to powder coat, just like painting a car. The dumb ass that you took your shit too probably just wiped it down with a rag and some motor oil, sprayed powder on and baked it. Compared to the $300 job, it wont last any where near as long. Double coating doesnt mean shit and is not always a good thing. If the applicator did not pay super close attention to the temp and time it was in the oven, the 2nd coat could peel away from the first. As far as redoing if there is a thin spot, hes not gonna start over, hes gonna wipe it down with more motor oil, maybe scuff it with scotch bright and toss on a 3rd coat. Thats even worse. Should have taken it to the other guy, he probably would have clear coated it for you which would have looked far sexier and created an epidemic of girls with short skirts and no underwear being attracted to your bike and leaving snail trails on your back seat. You fucked up.\r\n

\r\n \r\n also.... 2nd coats are usually to hide all the fuck ups in the first coat. Its like sweeping a room and pushing it all under the dining room rug. lol\r\n

\r\n \r\n yep, cant tell real well from the pics, looks like the cups are still in the frame, stem and inside bore of the triple look shiny indicating the guy didnt sandblast a thing!\r\n

\r\n \r\n glass beads is wrong media to use. Does not properly prep the surface and if you let the parts sit over night or are handling them before they get to the coater, they need to be redone anyways. If your coater is smart he will reblast them so they are virgin again. Hes still gonna charge you for that.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I\'m so glad I am not in that shit business anymore. This is exactly why it was so hard to make a profit.
If it wasnt for insurance companies, body shops wouldnt exist.\r\n

\r\n \r\n If it wasn\'t for people like me powersports places around here would make more money other than throwing me dealer cost for everything I break! I actually want to but my own powder coating set up just for my own stuff, the bike is going to need a fresh coat after how many times I\'ve pancaked it this year\r\n
