this is one for the books.
so i took it apart.
turns out the water pump impeller bolt sheared off in the shaft somehow. when that sheared off it released the pressure on the mechanical seal, letting them mix. this also explains why the cap wasnt working right properly/consistently.
this would explain overheating, coolant/oil mix. so before you go dropping the motor and ripping it apart for a HG like a lunatic, (me), be sure to check this first.
so the shaft, impeller, and all seals are ruined. luckily im getting parts off a blown up 06 in town right now so it will be back together tonight.
im the guy who could blow a motor from a damn oil air bubble.
