\r\n \r\n Tmnt you can\'t go wrong on a steel Frame mig or tig, mig is gonna be cheaper but if done right just as strong! Either way steel is a lot easier to fix than aluminum.\r\n

\nmay be... but looking back at the original pic.. the picture quality sucks ass!! the upper mouts are alike and those fairing tabs look like motodocs.

\ni think this is just a MIG welded frame with a bad picture. there is no crack, there is no pin hole, there are no structural problems... Majority of those welds are hiden from the fairings (assuming the fairing tabs are being used), so $550 well saved in my opinion.\r\n

I agree those are some ugly welds, but that doesnt mean they arent strong. It looks like its got penetration, of course we cant tell for sure since its been powdered. A weak weld would look like a bunch of little boogers

In mild steel, mig will be stronger than tig.

\nmaybe not "extra" work and maybe not necessarily more labor intensive. takes more time, but i guess its all in how u lay the bead\r\n

Can you post examples of what your welds look like on similar tubing and similar angles and what not?\r\n
