I've Jb welded clutch covers,stator covers,engine cases,oil pans etc etc...you can do it you just have to put some effort into it so it wont leak...
remove the oil pan locate all your cracks...some can be so small you cant see them but will still leak...
now spray everything down with brake clean..get ALL the oil and grime off inside and out.
..let it dry then take some ruff sand paper and scuff up the area of the crack very well so that the jb weld has something to grab onto plus it will help show cracks..if you skip the brake cleaner and sanding you can almost garentee it will leak....
give it one last spray with brake cleaner to get any oil or finger prints off..there cannot be any kind of oil residue or it could leak.. and put your jb on,press it into the cracks and into the area you scuffed up well...let it set up some more and push some more and smooth it over with your finger....If done right it shouldnt leak!
CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN it...every bit of oil residue needs to be gone,and SCUFF SCUFF SCUFF it with a gritty sand paper.the smooth polished surface of the oil pan and or other cases or covers doesnt give anything for it to grab on to..
