any tips for adjusting the carb...02 xr50

My fiddy has been sitting a while and just doesnt run like it used to. When you give it more than about half throttle, it hesitates and bogs down for a second. Im gonna adjust the carb on it. I read over the sticky thread on it. But does anyone have any tips from them doing it?
