okay so i've been wanting to tear down a bike to the frame for the past 4-5 years that i've been riding street, but never had the balls to actually do it. i have normal mechanic skills and have maintained all of my bikes, but never went past oil changes, plastic swaps, changing tires, etc. so i finally decided nows the time.
ive been plagued with horrible luck after getting my last f4i permanently impounded when i got arrested for wreckless/evading...my NEW f4i has been through a rough time the past few months too...had it pretty fresh full fairing:
until i looped a 45mph jump to spreader and smashed it up pretty good...after 2 months of waiting for parts i finally got it back up and running. since it was winter i decided to keep it streetfighter since id be rockin lots only....first day back to riding, i wrecked it again, as seen at the end of this video:
so i said instead of coming into the new year with a clapped out shitbox, im finally going to strip her down to the frame, paint it up nice and fresh, and come out with a new color scheme and hopefully turn my luck around
so the bike was hydrolocked after that mishap^^ after doing the kleen air mod, cleaning the oil out of the throttle bodies, and taking the plugs out and blowing the rest of the oil out she started right up and ran good. i then began the strip down yesterday. i have about an hour's worth of work in so far....its taking longer because im going nice and slow and keeping as organized as possible.

keeping any free bolts organized the best i can...thanks to r1wonder for the box idea, works awsome. also did my best to label most of the wiring connections i unplugged
picked up some used parts to step my game up..was rockin a 636 master with junction valve so i had to upgrade my h.b....all from classifieds on here: magura 16mm master, hohey dual cal bracket, hel stainless line, extra f4i caliper, round bar, and a new triple/ignition (mine smashed to peices)..spent around $300 total, found some great deals.
also copped a brand new a-town single bar cage to bring in the new season with some fresh protection....big up to slideways/atown for the crazy deal that i couldnt pass up. got home from school today to see it sittin on my doorstep, mocked it up realllly quick and it looks like it fits perfect which is nice to see.
also got another box today...some fresh paint....spray bombin this bitch ftw
ok so heres where the "help" part comes in...as you can see i still got the major parts to strip still....front forks, motor, and swingarm/rear shock are still on....most of the other stuff is already off...entire wire harness is removed as well. my question is: is there any tips from people who have done this before to make the rest of the stripping any easier? ive never taken an engine out so i plan to have a few friends over to help....i didnt look too closely since i only had a short time to work on it today, but i think i remember someone saying i can keep the whole radiator together? is that possible? any tips of best/easiest way to remove engine (do you guys usually drop it out the bottom of the frame?) basically any tips or tricks to make it go smooth would be awsome

p.s. i also made this thread just in case there are some people out there with noob-ish wrenching skills that are wondering if they can do this and need alittle motivation/inspiration....if i can get this done and back together, that means that basically anyone can do this lol!
