What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is a process where a finely ground powder is sprayed at very low pressurefrom an electrically charged gun. Then cleaned and bare metal part is grounded. The gunis charged From 10kv-100kv to give the particles a very high electrical charge. The particles are instantly drawn to the part, adhering to the charged surface. The part is then baked (high-temperature cured) and, as soon as it is cooled, is ready to go. Powder coating, as it is a thermo-set finish, is great for high heat items such as exhaust manifolds, headers,and barbeques.

Instructions for coating preparation :

• Item must be disassembled prior to shipping(no plastic or rubber parts attached)

• Item must be metal or aluminum and able to withstand the 400 degree bake cycle

• Greasy items are subject to an additional cleaning fee

• Powdercoated or painted items will require additional fees for chemical stripping .
