It is mandatory for your final product, but like you have posted and the poster above said, Learn and master the foot brake FIRST..... If you master that, then HB will come to you easy.

You see so many new kids going right to hand brake and learning fairly quick, but then they hit a wall and it's so hard for them to go and learn the FB.
