The main reason RADIAL calipers are used is so you can space out for differnt size discs. The "stress" on the front calipers is only limited to the tires grip and the steel bolt is way stronger than the cast fork leg it bolts into.
Even if the disc is 20mm bigger diameter thats only a 10mm spacer.
