I haven't washed it yet, I only drop my stuff at the cleaners every other week.
But in my spraycan affinity I have read & researched much on other peoples experiements, experiences, and proven methods beyond what I have done myself.
The consensus is, the paint lasts for years with little to no loss of image, and generally reacts to washing very little. I imagine that after lots and lots of vigorous washing & wear, the worst you would end up with is that cool, hard to duplicate "vintage" look.
Also, I used matte paint, and it not only had the right effect I wanted on the fabric, but also absorbed well into it with almost NO stiffness.. I haven't tried gloss yes, but I imagined it might be more prone to crackling... Who knows, I'll just have to experiment sometime.
