Would like to do a full steel subframe to make the pegs sit more level but they don't bother me really and everything is super light. I think I used a 98 or 99 900rr idle cable and yes it goes in the same way, theres a plate on bottom of TB that holds a couple cables, it needs to be removed to get the idle cable in there but works mint. The cable I went with didn't have enough threads to go in far enough but the idle cable had like 1/4" at bottom of threads that wasn't threaded so I used a die to cut extra threads and has been good ever since. If you find one of the Honda cables that has the little non threaded piece attached to the cable you could trim it down to fit and would work without the use of a die. I got lucky and had one and was able to use the cable I ordered.
Hmmm.I just found a spare idle adjuster cables in a box full of parts in my garage....damn,,, i see the plate you're talking about holding the fuel lines away from the exhaust...Seems like it would be impossible to reuse if you extend that throttle stop out. I'm going to see if there's a way to get around that but its really tight in there so I think I'm going to have to remove the throttle body. I assume you just left it out? I wouldn't want those fuel lines melting on the exhaust pipe.
