Sorry, haven't looked at this thread in forever! I might make a video if I get a new helmet, the mount is still holding strong on mine!
What I did was remove the 3m adhesive completely. It is not used at all for this. Then I roughed up the mount so the bondo would stick to it. I put tape on the helmet so the bondo WOULDNT stick to it. I basically used the helmet as a mold so I could get the bondo to match the curve of the helmet. Once the bondo was cured, I pulled it off the helmet and it stayed stuck to the mount pad because I roughed it up. So now I had a mount pad that matched the curve of the helmet. Last thing I did was apply some silicone to the back of the bondo and stuck it to the helmet. So the bondo is stuck to the mount or "part" of the mount now and then the mount is glued to the helmet with the silicone. Does that make more sense?
