I read up on a stunt bums write up that you should use regular resistor type plugs as apposed to the iridium plugs that come Oem. I did that but sometimes the idle feels funky and I can't set my idle where I want it for a while when I first get to the lot. It either is too low or too damn high. I ride it around the lot a little while and rev the shit out of it and it eventually clears out. Feels like plugs are fouling or getting soaked in gas from the previous sesh. Once it clears out its tits. You think the gixxer coils will solve that? Never heard of the gixxer coil thing and would be dope if it solves my issue. Only happens here and there. Not a consistent problem. Almost feels like I should ride it around at high rpm's before I load the bike up in my van after every sesh to make sure plugs dry up a lil after all the slow idle stuff. Just guessing.....
I run the non irridium stock preferred plug, i cant remember if its the 9 or 10, its the same one they talked about on stuntbums "setting up a r6 article". The gsxr coil packs are longer than r6 stockers. I got the idea from Johnny Bravo a while back, the definatley work. I was running too rich and carbon fouling plugs, i could pull the plug and rub carbon off of it, so I had to adjust the CO2 settings per quadrant to match my 1st gen headers and R6r stock exhaust. You can do this through the speedo very easily.
I remember putting the gsxr coils in with new plugs and spending a couple hours at the spot riding and adjusting these settings until I finally got my bike running really well and the best of any settings I tried. This was 2 summers ago and it still runs as good as when I set it, same plugs, coils and everything. I went through 5 sets of plugs in a year on the stock coils before that.
