Only partially true.. regular band they use driving can be picked up a great distance away by a good detector. The laser band has to be shot at a vechile from a stationary position. The laser particles shoot into the air after hitting a target and will also be picked up by a good detector. I have a Valentine one and have used it 130k in my stunt travels and never been hit for speeding and we always average 80/85 on trips. Granted a laser shot directly at you won't save you or even give time to react, but my V1 has saved me more times than I can remember, in fact I sent it back 2 months ago for a full upgrade after 7 years. I won't travel with out it
