If your bike is having problem keeping you in idle at 3500, then your bike has a problem beyond the advancer. In order for your bike to pull you, you have to be high enough rocking actual idle past bp. If you say you're chopping the throttle to stay at "bp" then in reality you're not even at bp. When you keep your throttle open at a certain position maintaining the same speed and your bike not screaming for it's life then you know you're at balance point. Hope this help. By the way I just added the +4 about two weeks ago and I must say, it def pulls stronger.
