though a weaker engine than a 450, the wr250x is the winner in my book for the combination of commuting and lot riding, for a couple reasons...

1) transmission; wide ratio transmission means you can stunt this bike without gearing changes, and still hit the highway and reach 75mph+ no problem... -1 in the front is more than enough for extra parking lot torque, though it can circle bone stock no problem. Their is no other supermoto bike with a wider transmission than the WR250X, to my knowledge.

2) Fuel injected. You can ride on the back wheel all day long, and it will never stall or die.

3) price is right, stunt parts are readily available

Set on a wr250 now, and budget has increased to 3500. my buddy has a wr426 and has no problems in the lot, but his is lot nly.

This the closest thing to a wr250 that I've found. http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=256371

I bought this from EK for $1800.
No time to mess with it...
The inspection is done, all paperwork in hand (fucking DMV idiots)
You just need to take it all down and file for BONDED title for street use (have org dirt title in hand)
Since I bought it I added/modded the following with a lot of help from Unifiddy and Magic Man.
Fork Seals and oil.
Voltage Reg.
Trail Tech.. speedo and water temp are wired. just need to wire the Tach.
Brake light.
Horn.
Headlight.
and a few other things that escape my beer fueled rage!

Has spare brake pads NIB
Warp 9 wheels
dirt wheels w brand new tire on rear.
have dirt plastic too.

The reason for selling is, I'm moving soon and haven't messed with it in the passed few weeks. and to be honest it is 3rd in line behind my two GSXR track bikes that need a lot of attention right now.. and I'm planning on moving soon.
Just trying to get out roughly what I have in it!

2001 wr426f. how do these compare to the wr250x? same thing but bigger motor and different gearing? and carb'd?
