This new steel frame had no bearing races so I had to get some anyway, but all my bikes have the All Balls taper bearings...they are only like $38 and are angled roller bearings like on a car wheel instead of ball bearings. They are less likely to get loose, break, rock back and forth, etc. Just a better design
I took a steel pipe/rod from the opposite side and caught the lip and knocked them out with a sledge hammer - it is a pain in the ass. And def use a socket to tap the new ones in like mentioned above.
